Host Special Party for Disadvantaged Youth – Thursday, February 23, 12:30-2 p.m.
(Long Island, NY) WHAT: More than 250 deserving children ages 4-12 from Nassau County will be treated to free hot dogs, popcorn, face painting, ice cream, clowns and other gifts, courtesy of the attorneys at the Nassau County Bar Association WE CARE Fund. These disadvantaged children from various organizations and schools all over Nassau County will have the rare opportunity to climb on real fire engines, see police cars and motorcycles, pet police horses and other surprises for a fun-filled afternoon, courtesy of local attorneys and judges.
WHY: The WE CARE Fund is the charitable arm of the Nassau County Bar Association. 100% of funds raised by attorneys are distributed through charitable grants to improve the quality of life for children, the elderly and others in need throughout Nassau County. In the 23 years since its founding, Nassau County attorneys have raised more than $2 million for more than 100 local charitable causes. The WE CARE program has matured into a nationally recognized model for similar programs at other bar groups. The Children’s Holiday Festival is an annual event.
