(New York, NY) Outraged parents from across the state will hold a press conference and protest against Governor Cuomo’s failed education record outside the Democratic State Convention, ahead of his nomination for re-election on the Democratic party ticket.
Parents will protest his underfunding of public schools and refusal to comply with the Campaign for Fiscal Equity ruling, as well as his support for increasing testing and teaching to the test through the botched implementation of the Common Core, the flawed teacher evaluation system and his strong connection to the Corporate Education Reform agenda of privatization and testing.
Participants will be tweeting using #CuomoCuts and #CampCuomo.
WHO: Public school parents from across the state— including Long Island, New York City and the Hudson Valley— protesting the Governor’s abandonment of public education, since taking office in 2011.

WHERE: Protesters will be located just off hotel property at 598 NY Route 110, Melville NY 11747, at the corner of Route 110 and Spagnoli Road.
