(Long Island, NY) This week I had the pleasure appearing at the 2007 New York International Auto Show. The New York International Auto Show will be running from April 7th through April 15th. Racing Fans and car enthusiast will especially enjoy this year’s event at the Jacob Javits Convention Center.

The New York International Auto Show is a premier annual auto event held every year in the springtime around Easter. It is a major marketing event to help publicize the world and international auto manufacturer’s promoting their newest cars and trucks to the public and media. New York City is the most famous city in the world, therefore, making it the premier city marketing new state of the art technology in automobiles.

The 2007 Auto show will be showcasing high-tech advances in auto technology specifically the debut of the Hybrid Technologies’ new L1X-75 lithium battery-powered electric car. This amazing car has a top speed of 175 mph and will advance from zero to 60 in 3.1 seconds. Is that fast enough for you darlings! What is even more astounding is that this scientific high-tech rocket inspired car is powered by nothing more than your standard 110v outlet and is designed to appeal to sport car enthusiasts.

The L1X-75 made its public debut at this year’s international auto show in New York City, and according to many experts, could very well represent the future of the international auto industry.

One of the winners at this years event were 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

This car is most definitely well proportioned. The car has a roomy back seat and a nice big trunk. Another fabulous winner is the Ford Shelby GT500KR Edition. The GT500KR wins because it’s a 540-hp Mustang revealed to me by handsome Product Specialist Spokesperson Shelby GT 500 Tom Bastianelli. Another fabulous winner was the Maserati GranTurismo. This beauty has stunning sensuous looks, a powerful V-8 engine and cachet to spare. It’s the kind of delicious sports car that’ll make you want to sell all your Google stock just to purchase the car.

My favorite was the 2008 Cadillac STS. I especially adored the 2007 XLR Roadster Cadillac convertible in Liquid Amethyst, what a car darlings! Superb the next best thing to a Pink Caddy!

Cadillac cites its Sixteen concept car of a few years ago as the inspiration for the side vents on the front fenders. They were indeed on that show-stopping car, but the fact that practically every new production model to hit the market in the past year or so also has these vents will unavoidably make Cadillac appear to be the copycat.

(Long Island, NY) On March 31, 2007 I had the pleasure of attending the Annual Night of Thousand Gowns presented by the Imperial Court of New York.

The Imperial Court of New York is part of a federation of over 70 chapters across Canada, Mexico and the United States of America in the International Court System.

Approximately 1,000 individuals from the Manhattan metropolitan area and across the continent attend this magnificent ball. The Imperial Court was founded in 1986 and has raised funds of over a million dollars for health organizations and local social services.

This years contributions will enable PFLAG New York City’s Stay Close Campaign, promoting acceptance and love by featuring celebrities and their LGBT significant others in an advertising campaign.

Tuxedos, magnificent ball gowns, encrusted regal robes, pageantry, elaborate hairstyles adorned with expensive jewels are all part of A Night of Thousand Gowns presented annually. National, State and city politicians all support A Night of Thousand Gowns. Senators Charles Shumer and Hillary Clinton, Congressman Jerold Nadler, State Legislators Deborah Glick and Thomas Duane, City Council Speaker Christine Quinn as well as Borough President Scott Stringer and Mayor Bloomberg have all given letters of praise promoting this glamorous gala.

This years event celebrated the 20th reign of New York Court headed by this years Majesties Emperor XF Fantasia and Empress XX Gefil Tefish which culminated the coronation of Imperial Highnesses, Crown Prince Royal Craig Hollywood and Crown Princess Royal B.

During my interview on the Red Carpet with Recording Artist Cyndi Lauper she revealed how thrilled she was to be Co-Chair for the ball and be part of the 21st Night of A Thousand Gowns! She mentioned that the event specifically benefits PFLAG’S Stay Close Campaign and that she is working on a new project with a number of partners launching the True Colors Tour. The True Colors Tour will visit cities around the country between Memorial Day and July 4th of this year.

Ms. Lauper will be joined by artists Debbie Harry, Erasure, The Gossip, The Dresden Dolls and Margaret Cho to spread the message that we all have the right to live with the same dignity, opportunity and safety. It doesn’t and shouldn’t matter what anyone’s sexual orientation is. PFLAG has endorsed this message since the organization was founded. The True Colors Tour will share the same spirit as the Imperial Court – having fun while contributing to truly worthwhile causes.

I also had the pleasure of interviewing legendary Broadway Actress Barbara Cook who also Co-chaired as well as a spokesperson for PFLAG and Soap Opera Diva Robin Strasser. Robin expressed in our interview how proud she was to have been asked to be part of this event and The Imperial Court of New York and PFLAG’s Stay Close Campaign.

Other celebrities that attended the gala were Actress Julie Halston, Playwright and Drag Performer Charles Busch and Broadway Stars Daphne Rubin-Vega and Darlene Love.

Hamptons Restaurant Week offers a fabulous bargain to all connoisseur lovers out there looking for upscale dining at an incredible price. On the East End of Long Island Hamptons Restaurant week is a celebrated annual event featuring promotional prix fix dinners offered by special participating restaurants. In addition to restaurants offering a week of delicious dining there are deals on discounted lodging, local wine, retail outlets and transportation. This year Hamptons Restaurant Week kicks off on Sunday March 25 through Sunday, April 1, 2007.

The Hamptons is known for its charming historic towns, vineyards, upscale designer shops, beautiful sandy white beaches, move stars, celebrities and the elegant restaurants they are seen dining in. For one special week before the start of “off season,” Hamptons dining will be available to everyone for discount prices. The details darlings is basic: From Sunday to Sunday all restaurants participating offer a 3-course prix fix dinner for $21.95 except Saturday when it will be offered until 7 p.m. only.

I decided to explore and find a few upscale eateries on my own to dine and enjoy. I came across two in particular that were especially good, Almond Restaurant in Bridgehampton and Pacific East in Amagansett.

Upon arriving at Almond Restaurant (www.almondrestaurant.com) I immediately felt a sense of ease and calmness in this totally unpretentious restaurant. Pressed tin ceilings, soft candlelight, antique mirrors, warm golden walls all add to the pleasant ambiance that accompany this rustic French bistro menu. Childhood friends and co-owners Eric Lemonides and Jason Weiner both who I had a chance to interview expressed their desire to open a Parisian bistro in Bridgehampton, a place for people to feel relaxed and at home and just to enjoy a good hearty meal without any pretense. Proprietor Eric Lemonides greets his patrons at their arrival with the spirit of egalité, libertrté, and fraternité and he is sure to pour you a glass of your favorite wine while Executive Chef Jason is creating a lusty dish for you to enjoy. Some of the wonderful appetizers to try in the beginning just to wet the appetite are the Escargot garlic & Pernod, and Marinated Octopus. For dinner if you are a seafood lover try the Montauk Flounder preserved lemon, garlic chips, bread crumbs is quite good and the Organic Salmon would be another appropriate choice. If meat is your preference you can order the Marinated Hangar Steak.

I was also intrigued by a sensuous restaurant Pacific East in Amagansett. Pacific East is the very best in fine dining. The restaurant draws an upscale sophisticated clientele that have discriminate taste for the very best in pan-Asian cuisine. Tiki torches invite guest immediately at the door. The walls are a blend of textured terracotta mixed in with a hint of turquoise. The tables are adorned with white linen and sparkling wine glasses.

For dinner A-list celebrities dine on luxurious Pacific East roll, a bundle of lobster, caviar, and lemony shiso leaves; extravagantly rich Kobe beef; steamed mussels in a fragrant coconut-curry broth; and colorful, cilantro-crusted fluke. Executive Chef Michael Gastino expressed the restaurant is also famous for their lobster lollipops and its fabulous sushi which Radio Star Howard Stern and girlfriend Beth adore. Gotham Magazine Cover Star and the Queen of Prime Time, Mariska Hargitay joins Niche Media in celebrating the March issue of Gotham at the Four Seasons Restaurant.

(Long Island, NY)  Law & Order SCVU’s leading lady gorgeous Mariska Hargitay in the celebration of her March cover of Gotham Magazine. The celebrity stars that came out to show their support for “Law & Order” Star Mariska Hargitay were Jamie Lynn Sigler, Kyan Douglas, B.D. Wong and Matthew Modine.

The beautiful 43 year old actress has a great deal to be proud of, a fantastic career, a handsome husband, and a wonderful adorable son.

Mariska Hargitay is the famous offspring of Hollywood Movie Star Jayne Mansfield and Hungarian body builder Mickey Hargitay. She is the youngest child from their marriage.

Mariska was only a baby when she and her three brothers Mickey Jr. and Zoltan were in the back seat of a car sleeping when it smashed into the back of a trailer truck instantly killing her mother (Jayne Mansfield), the driver and Mansfield’s boyfriend, attorney Sam Brody. Miraculously, the three children escaped with minor bruises. Jayne Mansfield was only 33 years old when she died.

Ms. Hargitay dropped out of UCLA after majoring in theater. She decided then it was time to pursue a career in show business. The cult favorite “Ghoulies” in 1985 was her first film role. After she appeared in “Leaving Las Vegas” in 1995 and in 1999 was cast as Myra Okubo in “Lake Placid” but her big break came when she received the role of Detective Olivia Benson in the primetime hit “Law & Order” in 1999. The premise of the show is detectives that solve sex crimes in a specific unit called SVU (Special Victims Unit). Jayne would have loved that! She was voted in 2006 one of People Magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful People.

When she won the 2005 Golden Globe award her acceptance speech was “50 years ago, my mother stood on this stage accepting this award. She was fortunate enough to have my Dad with her. 50 years later, I’m fortunate enough to have my Dad with me. I love you Dad.”

Unfortunately after that event her father passed on. Her father Mickey Hargitay died after a lengthy illness at the age of 80. She recently was quoted saying “Everything has combined to make my life in New York an amazing experience. I told my manager a few years ago that I wanted to move here and try acting in the Theatre. Then this show came up. Now I’m in this show that means something to me and a lot of other people.”

At present Mariska is married to actor Peter Hermann and has a son. Because of their careers, the couple divides their time between New York and Los Angeles. Mariska is also fluent in Hungarian, French, and Italian.

(Long Island, NY) Legendary Rap Star Chuck D from Public Enemy arrived an hour and half late at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Press Conference to celebrate “Definitive 200” Campaign at J& R Music and Computer World.

My sources revealed that the famous rapper was held up in traffic in a yellow cab because of war protesters protesting outside of J&R Music World against President Bush sending more troops to Iraq yesterday afternoon. Amazing Chuck D looked casual in jeans and a cap as he spoke to press about the Definitive 200.

He is very pleased about one recent nod to American and rap history – the election of one of Public Enemy’s most obvious influences, Furious Five and Grandmaster Flash to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

That opens the door to more rap acts making the Hall of Fame, according to Chuck D. He mentioned Run-D.M.C., the Beastie Boys and another group that will become eligible for election in 2012.

Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five created the musical revolution known as hip-hop. Their union pioneered the union between one DJ and five rapping MCs. Grandmaster Flash (born Joseph Saddler) not only developed different concepts and various techniques but also designed mixing equipment and turntable. Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five was established in the South Bronx and was one of the first rap posses, responsible for such masterpieces as “The Message,” “Grandmaster Flash on the Wheels of Steel” and “White Lines.” The combination of Grandmaster Flash’s turntable mastery and the Furious Five’s raps, ranging from socially conscious to frivolously fun, made for a series of 12-inch records that forever revolutionized the music industry with rap.

“Public Enemy right now is the greatest show on Earth,” the legendary rap group’s front man said in a recent phone interview from his home in Long Island, N.Y. “It’s a combination of Rage Against the Machine, The Roots and Run-D.M.C., and still being Public Enemy.”

Public Enemy has accomplished a great deal starting with the 1987 debut “Yo! Bum Rush the Show” and hitting its in-your-face creative stride with the group’s next two albums, 1988’s “It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back” and, two years later, “Fear of a Black Planet” and hopefully more is on the horizon.

In essence the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Definitive 200 is The National Association of Recording Merchandisers (NARM) and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame collaborated together to put together a list of 200 albums that should be in every music collection. As NARM president Jim Donio puts it, they are “albums that have consistently excited record buyers over the years and those that have the potential for continued success based on enduring popularity…. The inevitable debate about the 200 must-own albums will underscore just how much the music and the art form mean to everyone.”

Mayor Blumberg here in New York City has declared March 12th as Definitive 200 Day as part of the Definitive 200 Campaign.

Consumers will become aware of the Definitive 200 promotion through advertising as well as signage and displays in stores and on web sites.

(Long Island, NY) The recent death of Hollywood Blonde Bombshell Anna Nicole Smith, born Vicky Lynn Hogan in 1967, has made her a member of an exclusive sorority. Her sudden death at age 39 puts her in the league of glamorous blondes that have all died in the prime of their life.

Drug overdoses, plane crashes, automobile accidents, homicides and even kidney disease have all claimed the lives of these Hollywood fabulous blondes.

“It’s so sad to think that Hollywood has lost so many beautiful blonde bombshells,” said Press Photographer Shane Gritzinger, who photographed Anna Nicole Smith on the Runway at the Heatherette show several years ago and many other red carpet events that she attended.

It first began when Hollywood was in its infant stages back in the 1930’s with the ultimate blonde, Platinum Blonde Jean Harlow who was only 28 years old when she died of uric poisoning of the kidney. Later Carol Lombard died in a plane crash and what about beautiful blonde actress Thelma Todd whose homicidal death is still a mystery today. In 1962 Hollywood Legend Marilyn Monroe famously died at 36 from an overdose of sleeping pills. Pink Cadillac and Pink Mansion Palace Jayne Mansfield died at age 34 in a 1967 car crash.

“Why is it such a curse to be a Hollywood Blonde Bombshell,” Gritzinger said. In 1974 Paige Young a beautiful blonde playmate died also of a drug overdose. Perhaps before Anna Nicole Smith, the most notorious headline grabbing deaths of blonde bombshells were the untimely homicidal deaths of Actress Sharon Tate in 1969 and 20 year old Actress Playmate Dorothy Stratton in 1980.

Beautiful Sharon Tate’s first big break came when she was typecast as the seductively sexy bank secretary, Janet Trego, in the Television Series “The Beverly Hillbillies” (1962) (1963-1965)”. In 1967 Sharon would meet her future husband, Director Roman Polanski, on the set of the English film The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967). Ms. Tate’s big role would be that same year when she was cast as the voluptuous sex starlet in Valley of the Dolls (1967). During her short marriage to Director Roman Polanski, her jetsetting life became one of parties, travel, and meeting influential movie people. Sharon decided to take time off from movies and an acting career as she awaited the birth of her first child. On a hot summer night in the City of Angels, on August 9, 1969, a pregnant Sharon Tate and four other people where murdered by members of the “Manson family”. During a quiet night in with friends, 4 of Charles Manson’s family minions creepy-crawled into her rented house at Ceilo Drive and violently murdered the occupants: Sharon Tate, Jay Sebring, coffee Heiress Abigail “Gibby” Folger, Gibby’s boyfriend Woijech (Voytek) Frykowski and Steven Parent, a visitor of the caretaker, William Garretson.

A few months after the lovely Dorothy Stratten became the magazine’s Playmate of the Year in 1980, she was murdered by her jealous husband Paul Snider, a promoter. Stratten was made a Playmate in the August, 1979 issue of Playboy. Soon after, she was pressured into marrying Snider, who had a Svengali-like influence on her. After her centerfold came out, Stratten found work in a few movies, notably Americathon and Skatetown, USA., as well as being the object of Richard Dawson’s affection in an ABC-TV special shot at the Playboy mansion. Clearly, her star was on the rise. In 1980, it was revealed that Stratten would be tabbed as the Playmate of the Year by Playboy publisher and founder Hugh Hefner. While Dorothy seemed to be living a charmed life things were not going well in her marriage to Snider. He bothered her on the set of the movie Galaxina and when Snider found out she was developing more than a platonic relationship with Hollywood Director Peter Bogdonavich, Paul Snider grew increasingly angry abusive and frustrated. After a separation, Snider purchased a gun and convinced Dorothy Stratten into coming to the apartment they shared in West Los Angeles. Snider tied, gagged and sexually assaulted her and put the gun next to her face and pulled the trigger. After Snider shot Dorothy he then turned the gun on himself to complete the murder-suicide.

Beautiful Bombshell Dorothy Stratten’s life story was glorious, tragic and very brief much like Marilyn Monroe and now Anna Nicole Smith.

On February 15, 2007 Hosts Tim Gunn, of the Department of Fashion Design at Parsons The New School for Design, and Project Runway Mentor, & Designer Jonathan Adler invited Manhattan’s biggest hearted and most fun people to attend the Bailey House Auction and Cocktail Party at Puck Building to keep this mid winter tradition alive and help house and serve some of New York City’s most vulnerable citizens.

This cocktail party and a live and silent auction featured hundreds of cool things – from art and photography to decorative pieces, fashion, gifts, theater and concert tickets, trips and fantasy items – and a food tasting from the best and the brightest of NYC’s own restaurateur/caterers. Now in its 19th year, this annual funds-raiser for Bailey House has proved a perennial crowd pleaser with its lively vibe and trove of great stuff to bid on. The money raised helps the city’s second-oldest AIDS organization in its 24-year-old core mission of providing desperately needed housing and supportive services to New Yorkers living with HIV and AIDS – well that’s the definition that matters most.

Founded in 1983, Bailey House was the nation’s first provider of supportive housing to people living with AIDS. Today, Bailey House is a nationally recognized leader in AIDS housing and services. This event helps Bailey House clients achieve a new, more promising future through secure housing, and other supportive services. At Bailey House, the future starts with a place to live.

A small group of dedicated clergy, gay and lesbian activists, West Village business people founded the AIDS Resource Center which later was renamed Bailey House in 1995. These warm wonderful and encouraging individuals witnessed community members and friends devastated by what was then a new disease, lose access to the care and resources needed to stay alive and became homeless. They decided to make a difference by raising money to rent apartments for these poor homeless people and eventually were able to purchase a building for a congregate living facility, known as BaileyHolt House.

The housing and services Bailey House provided allowed many sick and homeless AIDS victims residents to survive long enough to take advantage of the life-sustaining breakthroughs in medical therapies. Without stable housing and support, many of these unfortunate ill people would have died before treatments became available. Our successful housing programs have become the models that have ensured effective services for homeless people with HIV/AIDS throughout the country and around the world.

(Long Island, NY) This year at the fall 2007 shows the A-list celebrities stayed home and the front rows were overrun with the new celebrities – Park Avenuenites – New York City socialites. These wonderful trust fund fashionistas like Tinsley Mortimer, Lauren Dupont and Tara Rockefeller were in full force enjoying the shows at Bryant Park. America’s leading designers unveiled suits, dresses and coats with more defined shapes and tailored cuts for fall 2007.

Designers such as Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, Nanette Lepore, Tommy Hilfiger, Phillip Lim and my favorite Carmen Marc Valvo displayed structured silhouettes reminiscent of the 1950-1960’s. If people are going to be paying so much for garments they want something extraordinary and sophisticated.

The move to more structured and defined silhouettes is a simple and classic illustration of how the fashion pendulum swings back and forth. Designers are now moving away from the artistic creative bohemian approach to fashion and are creating beautiful structured wearable designs that real women want to wear.

On February 9th Carmen Marc Valvo presented his spectacular as always Fall 2007 collection at Bryant Park. Dressed in an ensemble of porcupine fur designed by Count Vlad of Vladicouture I interviewed Carmen Backstage. Carmen revealed the sleek aesthetic of mid-century modern design was his source of inspiration for Fall 2007 Collection. Intrigued by the clean craftsmanship and sculptural forms of that era’s most dynamic interior and furniture designers, Carmen presented his collections that revered the past while embracing the future.

The architectural forms of designers such as Jean-Michel Frank and Isamu Noguchi are the building blocks of Carmen’s latest collection. Straight surfaces are molded into curvilinear shapes that caress the body. Cocktail dresses are crafted from the bias strips of crepe. Sunray side-pleated satin faced organza combines from with function to create structured yet diaphanous gowns.

The overall effect is cool yet organic, sculptural yet extremely comfortable fashion reflecting the tastes of the modern Carmen Marc Valvo woman. Although his fashion are a favorite among the A-list celebrities and movie stars his devotion to his non-celebrity clients have made him a star. I also had chance to chat with stunning vivacious Vanessa Williams star of “Ugly Betty” as she warmed up the tents roaming backstage to catch the debut of Carmen Marc Valvo’s new fall collection. Vanessa and I agreed that Carmen’s designs are always gorgeous elegant and timeless.

(Long Island, NY) Mercedes-Fashion Week kicked off this past Friday, February 2, 2007. Seventy-seven fabulous designers will present their Fall 2007 Collections showcasing their amazing designs in the Bryant Park Tents.

On Saturday February 3rd I was invited to the last show of the evening The Venexiana Fashion Show in the Salon. During the show I sat in awe of the 49 stunning designs that were shown in the Venexiana Fall Collection strutting down the enormous runway.

Backstage I had a chance to interview the designer Kati Stern behind the Venexiana brand.

“Kati darling, what is the inspiration for the Fall collection we are seeing today?”. Kati, glancing back at me with her sexy smoldering intense kohl rimmed eyes expressed “I was watching TV very late at night about a couple of months ago and it was a vintage movie starring Hollywood Legend Barbara Stanwyck that inspired me to create this wonderful collection”.

Ms. Stern was so mesmerized by Movie Star Barbara Stanwyck that she could not remember the name of the movie, what year the film was made, who the costume designer was or even the other actors that starred in the film with Barbara Stanwyck but felt compelled to design a whole collection based on the beautiful designs that were created for Ms. Stanwyck to wear during the film.

I also inquired “Is it true that restoring a second home in Venice influenced you to create the Venexiana line?”.

Ms. Stern expressed that the house which she refers to as her Palazzo Priuli is from the 1300’s. It has its own spirit and is incredibly beautiful. She also mentioned that Hungarians who lived there a thousand years ago originally owned her home. She went on later to explain that her home is not a house, it’s her friend. It’s really a person. “It has a staircase I can’t even describe”.

There are only two or three of them remaining in Venice, from the late 1300s, she so eloquently expressed. This elegant Venetian Palazzo inspired her to create the Venexiana label a recipe mixture of antiquated sexiness and intense high glamour merging the two metropolises Manhattan and Venice thus Venexiana.

A winner of various distinguished awards as a fashion student and a music prodigy from the age of four, Kati decided to follow a career as an architect and interior designer. After working with textures, colors and diverse materials she decided to go back to her original passion, designing beautiful fashions. She began by creating costumes for the Carnevale in Venice, and then went on to launch her own line.

Her creations are a mixture of unusual effects and extraordinary elements. Her designs are a combination of lace with leather and fur collaborated with metal. Her collections are always diversified running the gamut from rocked out glam to classic chic. Fall 2007 exudes the romantic elegance of old world Hollywood glamour.

Fall 2007 collection is all about feminine dressing in luxury fabrics – charmeuse, silk, chiffon, leather and fur for day into evening. The subtle chic of autumn shades of chocolate, loden and greys are woven throughout. Glamour rules darlings!
