(Long Island, NY) This past week I was invited by the beautiful Katherine Rothman at KMR Communications, Inc to attend “Girls Night Out” Cocktail Party at Bruno Jamais Restaurant. Darlings, It was a shopping extravaganza sure to impress the girlie girl in all of us. I had a chance to chat with Long Island, Hamptonite sexy blonde bombshell singer Samantha Cole who told me she bought the latest Gucci Bag at the event. Samantha was kind enough to invite me to her masquerade birthday celebration at the chic new club Providence on Friday October 20th. This high profile event masquerade theme is dress in pink, black or both, “whatever your heart desires darling,” Samantha gushed.

The lovely Court TV Anchor Lynne White wearing a Ralph Lauren ensemble told me how excited she was to be invited to this spectacular event. I also had a chance to chat with the owner Bruno himself on this exciting opportunity the first of its kind to be in a trendy elegant restaurant to join in the fun at this very upscale event featuring skincare and cosmetic companies, retail stores, fitness products, hair care products and so much more. The evening was fun, music shopping, cocktails, gourmet food, wonderful goodie bags and a chance to win luxury prizes. Darlings, I had the best time ever.

(Long Island, NY) This past week I was delighted to be invited to a special showing of the Max Nugus Couture Collection at his Madison Avenue atelier. I met with his charming GM and fashionista showroom extraordinaire Mr. Arnold Goodman to do a sit down interview for my show Cognac’s Corner.

(Long Island, NY)  Despite the nasty weather last weekend darlings, celebrities still turned out to attend the annual Hampton Classic Horse Show in Bridgehampton. The show grounds and VIP tents were occupied by famous Hamptons’ socialites, movie stars, celebrities and their youngsters. Recording artist Bruce Springston and wife Patti were both there to show encouragement for daughter Jessica who was one of the Junior Jumpers. The gossip is that Bruce and Patti are having marital problems and the couple may be splitting up but to curious onlookers at the Hampton Classics the romantic couple seemed very happy and cozy holding each other hands.

Congratulations are in order darlings, triple time Olympic veteran Anne Kursinski of Frenchtown, New Jersey riding Roxanna 112 won the $150,000 Prudential Financial Grand Prix.

The Hampton Classic was first established in the early 1900’s in Southampton. Presently, the Hampton Classic is one of the nation’s largest hunter/jumper horse shows.

Major publications such as Vogue, Town & Country, Harper’s Bazaar, The New Yorker, People, The New York Times, In-Style and Newsday have featured many articles regularly about this high profile and extravagant event. Each year, not only celebrities but spectators watch more than 1,300 horses exhibited and more than $500,000 in prize money offered.

Labor Day also always marks the end of the season for celebrity parties, galas and fundraisers. Galleries and artists on the other hand present their fall shows. With the leaves turning all those wonderful autumn hues of gold, orange and brown artist are inspired to bring out their collections bringing guests inside to appreciate their detailed artwork.

The East Hampton Art Exhibit celebrates the beauty of Accabonac Harbor show which was held at Ashawagh Hall, Springs on Friday, September 1st through Monday, September 4th. A portion of the sales from the exhibit was donated to The Nature Conservancy. This exhibition reflected a growing relationship between conservation groups and plain-air artists. The work of plain-air artists promotes awareness and an appreciation of the natural beauty and fragility of the landscape, and ties in to the mission of The Nature Conservancy to conserve, protect and restore our last great places. Another fantastic event was Bedell Cellars in Cutchogue showcasing their new outdoor pavilion. The open air tasting room located adjacent to the indoor tasting room features a breathtaking view of the vineyard. Featuring an extra long tasting bar, the new pavilion more than doubles the bar space available for wine tasters. Bedell hosted the final tasting of the music and wine on Saturday September 9th. There was also an art opening and reception at Karin Sanders Fine Art to honor artist Richard Bruce. Many of his extraordinary pieces of artwork have local roots as landscapes and seascapes. This week darlings, the celebrities have taken off to the Big Apple to take a bite out of fashion during Olympus Fashion Week. I will be there with my camera interviewing glamorous celebrities, fashion designers and attending fashions shows I’m sure darlings there will be plenty of gossip to share with you all.

This past month has been busy with special events including the Jaguar and Hogan’s “Drive Gorgeous” event. This fabulous event displayed the very finest in Jaguar motorcars on a Hamptons afternoon. The event consisted of celebrity guest drivers discovering clandestine locations and secret estates not published on maps for charming gathering with other hosts of this high profile notable occurrence. This elegant occasion presented the most fashionable car of the year the 2007 Jaguar XK.

Celebrity guest that participated in the event were: Allison Sarofim, Andrew Saffir and Daniel Benedict, Candy Pratts and Chuck Price, Dave Lieberman, Nacho Figueras and Delfina Blaquier, Fabian Basabe, Hayley and Jason Binn, Jonathan Farkas, Justin Bartha, Kelly Bensimon, Kelly Klein, Luigi Tadini, Lydia Hearst, Martina Basabe, Patrick McMullan, Stella Schnabel, Thalía, Thom Filicia, and Tommy Mottola.

Another important event was the fundraiser for Ligaly, Long Island Gay & Lesbian Youth. The foundation began in 1993 and has established services for gay, lesbian and transgender youth and their families battling against discrimination. The history of Ligaly began when two individual students and several youngsters began to provide education to local surrounding schools about the issues of growing up gay and enlisted several support groups around Long Island communities. Award winning playwright Terrence McNally was the Guest of honor and has been a long time supporter of the Organization. Congressman Steve Israel was also honored whose acceptance speech slammed the country’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” military policy excluding openly gay soldiers in their armed services.

President Michael Heitner, CEO Executive Director, Dr. David Kilmnich, Development Robert Vitelli, board member Andy Stern and all the wonderful young volunteers made this all possible as one the most elegant events of the summer. Sunday’s party raised funds for their “Safe Schools” program.

On Saturday August 26th Socialites Joan and George Hornig hosted the “Under the Tuscan Sun” at their elegant estate in Southampton to benefit the Bailey house, the nations first provider of supportive housing for those with HIV/AIDS. The royals held court in their designer ball gowns and expensive estate jewels at this magnificent elegant soiree. The event was hosted by Bruce T. Sloane and Rose Billings. It was a night of dancing under the stars to the music of DJ Karin Ward while you enjoyed delicious hor d’oeurves and a silent auction

AIDS Rescource Center was established in 1983 by a group of clergy, West Village business people and gay activists and was later renamed Bailey House in 1995.

The services and housing Bailey House provided allowed many early residents to take advantage of medical therapies. Their successful housing programs have ensured effective housing for people with AIDS throughout the world.

(Long Island, NY) On August 24th Hayground School kicked off the 11th celebration anniversary with an intimate screening of the gripping cult horror classic film “Jaws” also celebrating the 30th year since its ground -breaking release. Screenwriter David Koepp, movie star Roy Scheider and Hollywood mogul film director Steven Spielberg hosted the event at Guild Hall in East Hampton and participated in an audience Q&A for this offering from Guild Hall’s Red Carpet Film Series.

I remember darlings, waiting in anticipation for this highly publicized exciting flick of its time to be released in the summer of 1976. Everything in the movie is so perfectly synchronized, the mixture of director Steve Spielberg’s humor, the intense build up of music, the dialogue, the acting, the script, and the tension all things combined is what made this classic horror flick a very real blockbuster masterpiece that launched Spielberg’s career in the motion picture industry.

A resident of East Hampton, Hollywood mogul Steven Spielberg is one of the most distinguished influential film personalities in the history of film. Mr. Spielberg is perhaps Hollywood’s best-known director of our time and one of the richest movie-makers in the world today.

Spielberg born 1946 in Cincinnati Ohio began his show business career soon after dropping out of Long Beach University. His first job was a non-credited editor on “Wagon Train” a classic western in 1957.

Soon after he started directing short films like “Battle Squad” in 1961 and “Escape to Nowhere in 1961. Mr. Spielberg went on to produce and direct more films in the motion picture industry as well as television. In the early 1970s Spielberg was working on TV, directing Rod Serling’s “Night Gallery” (1970) in which he had the chance to work with Hollywood movie star legend Joan Crawford. At the time he was relatively still an unknown director and many famous actors did not want to work with him. Crawford saw his raw talent and knew he would become an influential Hollywood director. Spielberg also worked on “Marcus Welby, M.D.” (1969) and Columbo: Murder by the Book (1971) (TV).

His entire work in short films and television were just a hint of his genius that would dazzle and mesmerize audiences globally.

(Long Island, NY) On Friday evening I was invited to an elegant champagne cocktail reception at Southamptons’s Dazzelle Boutique to launch the premier showing of the Fall 2006 cashmere and spectacular fur collection designed by famous fur Designer David Goodman.

The evening began with a special photo shoot arranged in the back of my limousine en route to the event with my friend celebrity event photographer, Shane Gritzinger. My chauffer pulled up in front of the boutique where pedestrian onlookers stopped in their tracks.

We arrived fashionably late around 7:00 p.m. I made my grand Hamptons entrance wearing a glamorous shocking orange cocktail dress, dripping in diamonds and coral jewelry and wrapped in white fox fur as event photographer Shane Gritzinger from filmmagic.com clicked away taking important press photos of this high profile event.

Society fur designer David Goodman made a personal appearance and was on hand to answer questions about the unveiling of his new luxurious minks, sables, featherweight reversible furs and my favorite chinchilla, which I modeled throughout the event.

Mr. Goodman also presented his Buonoumo cashmere collection which must be seen to be believed. The collection was simply divine darlings!! These fabulous fur-trimmed cashmere knits are the ultimate in luxury dressing. This prestigious trunk show featuring his Fall 2006 collection will be from August 17th to the 20th.

Glamorous social gadfly Joan Jedell, Editor in Chief and Publisher of the Hampton Sheet was there to give her support and promote the event and was modeling a magnificent golden sable coat.

Talk about celebrity gossip in the Hamptons and Ms Jedell, my sources tell me that the ravishing redhead Ms. Jedell was banned from Saturday night’s Red Cross Ball in the Hamptons. Apparently The Hampton Sheet editor and publisher was so furious when she was told to sit at the press table. Ms. Jedell used several choices of off color words thinking she was speaking to the event coordinator, turns out she was cursing at the event host Todd Rome. You go girlfriend!!!

And to add insult to injury offended Mr. Rome told her unless she pays the $1,000 dollars for the ticket, she is banned from his palatial home and the ball. Joan, darling it would not have been so bad, You and I could have sat together at the press table and talked all night about David Goodman Furs. Well darlings, I am sure it will all get resolved and they will kiss and makeup eventually, my money is on Joan.

(Long Island, NY)  Hello darling, Welcome back to Cognac’s Corner. Last week my husband and I were summering and vacationing in the Hamptons and we were both craving a nice big rare juicy steak so we thought: Where could we enjoy a thick perfectly prepared steak?”.

Darlings, Craving steak, chops, lobster and seafood? Then head to Bobby Van’s Steakhouse in Bridgehampton. Recently there have been renovations added to this famous restaurant. Arching skylights and grass paper walls have all been added to give a sprucing up to make the restaurant more inviting to dine within and alfresco giving it a sophisticated café European touch. The bar is charmingly still rustic and the breezes from the cool Hamptons Ocean along Main Street are intoxicating.

The steaks are best in all of the Hamptons, beefy and well aged. All the signature dishes are perfectly prepared and well seasoned. I truly enjoyed the Grilled Salmon on a bed of Caesar Salad.

The rare-cooked sesame-crusted tuna with ponzu sauce and the moist crispy crab cakes are an excellent choice as well.

The restaurant was established in 1969 by Actor Bobby Van. Bobby loved to entertain and perform in the Hamptons area. His restaurant attracted poets, writers, movie stars and famous celebrities to its well-known doors. In order to accommodate more guests the restaurant was moved across the street. Bobby continued to entertain guests at the restaurant until 1992 upon retiring.

Today the restaurant is owned by four seasoned restaurateurs and entrepreneurs from Manhattan, Joseph Smith, Joe Hickey, Rich Passarelli and Joe Phair. They continue to bring excellence in premier dining in the Hamptons.

(Long Island, NY) The Hamptons inspire many creative artists, celebrities, movie stars, motion picture producers, directors and fashion designers who decide to take residence in one of the most famous places on the globe. They are all drawn to its miles of beautiful white sandy beaches, upscale restaurants, chic boutiques, fundraising events and famous celebrity parties.

Fashion designer Vera Wang is a second-generation local. You can usually find Vera swimming with her husband Arthur Becker in her Hamptons estate along with her two lovely daughters Josephine and Cecilia. If she is not supporting her local cause, the Southampton Hospital, she is busy in her design studio creating the latest collection for her celebrity clients. She began her career working for Vogue and has spent the last 30 years radically changing the bridal industry. You can also see her beautiful designs on many high profile movie stars on the red carpet at the Oscars.

Shock Jock Howard Stern now is a regular fixture on the Hamptons Scene along with his blonde bombshell significant other Beth Ostrosky. Mr. Stern has hopped around many fabulous East End properties over the years but this particular year he is renting the home of Terry Allen Kramer before he movies into his grand ocean front property on Squabble Lane which neighbors the former Charlotte Ford Estate. Mr. Stern is indeed living the good life after his sweet deal with his Sirius radio show.

The divine Diane von Furstenberg adores Sunset Beach in the Hamptons and you can often see DVF and her husband Barry Diller pull up in their famous yacht to the shoreside Shelter Island Restaurant. Ms. Von Furstenberg made the cover of Newsweek Magazine when she was only 29 for selling a million of those fabulous wrap dresses that she so infamously designed.

Designer Michael Kors who is famous for his American sportswear is another permanent resident of the East End. Michael was born and raised on Long Island and has always had a deep emotional bond to the Hamptons.

Ralph Lauren is inspired and influenced by his spectacular Hamptons settings and the polo matches in Bridgehampton thus creating his famous Ralph Lauren shirts with polo players on them. His palatial summer home with spectacular ocean views is located on the dunes and dramatic cliffs of Montauk, which he shares with his three children Dylan, David and Andrew and his wife Ricky.

Sean Combs often known as Puff Daddy is now a new resident of the Hamptons. I had the pleasure of meeting Sean during the September Fashion Week and interviewed his mother Janice Combs at the Dennis Basso Fur Fashion Show. His famous White Parties put the Hamptons on the map creating an influx of a new generation of urban style.

Over the weekend I took in my latest summer movie, “John Tucker Must Die”. The premise of this silly teenage flick is about three luscious lovelies (ex-girlfriends) of a serial cheater played by Desperate Housewives Jessie Metcalf set to have their former lover to fall in love with the new girl in town only to have his precious little heart broken.

These three jilted teenage girls conspire together to get sweet revenge, but, as you might consider, all kinds of unusual complications arise and valuable lessons are learned.

The film is reasonably entertaining which in my opinion boasts knowledgeable awareness and a higher than average female cultural IQ.

The movie only proves one thing, teenagers are preoccupied with sex and that this is what gets the go-ahead in contemporary Hollywood isn’t a movie that will be entertaining, or even make sense, but one whose concept — and only its concept — can most easily be sold.

It is most definitely a chick flick that teenage girls will love to see and Ashanti who plays the character Heather a scheming cheerleader has never looked lovelier.

Sexy recording artist Ashanti was born October 13, 1980 in Glen Cove Long Island. Amazing Ashanti began singing at the age of 12 and she was the first R&B singer to join Murder Inc. Records. She launched her singing career in 1994 when she was recognized at a talent show.

She has been inspired by many recording artists such as the great Ella Fitzgerald and more recent Mary J. Bilge. Her latest hits “Always on Time”, “What’s Luv” and “Foolish” have all made the top 10 in one week.

Ashanti, the twenty-five year old from Glen Cove Long Island started her acting career in a string of television appearances. Her first was in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer before going on to the big screen. Her first significant role was portraying a pregnant teenager in the 2005 basketball drama “Coach Carter”. Her next exciting project will be a sci-fic thriller “Resident Evil: Extinction” which is soon to scheduled for next years release.

Aspiring actress Ashanti may still be waiting for the next movie role to create her as the next bona fide star.

(Long Island, NY) The last weekend of July is no doubt the biggest celebrity weekend in the Hamptons. The whole entire fabulous weekend was non-stop celebrity parties, benefits, fundraisers, charities and movie premiers.

On Friday, July 28th I was privileged to be invited to The Fourth Annual VH1 Save The Music Hamptons Benefit. The event was packed with star-studded celebrities including a concert performed by Grammy award winning recording artist and music sensation Ciara and Sony Urban/Columbia Records artist Lyfe Jennings.

These two very important high profiled artist expressed to me in my red carpet interviews with them how important this benefit really is and how honored they were to perform in concert.

Charismatic Ciara grew up in army bases in New York, California, Nevada, Arizona and Germany. Ciara’s childhood dream was to be an amazing recording artist so she and her mother diligently pursued a relentless career in music.

On September 28, 2004 Ciara released her debut album “Goodies on with the help from Jazze Pha, Sean Garret and Lil John. It sold over three million copies and entered the Billboard 200 Chart as number 3. Ciara was on her way to super stardom and a Grammy. The second single featuring Missy Elliot on “1, 2 Step was lucky to reach the top five in the United States. Ciara was also featured on Missy Elliott’s number three hit “Lose Control” which was taken from the album, The Cookbook. Singing sensation Ciara also joined Gwen Stefani in December 2005 on “Harajuku Lovers Tour”.

Second to perform was recording artist Lyfe Jennings born Chester Jennings in Toledo, Ohio. Tall dark and Handsome Jennings revealed to me how honored he was to sing at the event. Soul singer-songwriter, instrumentalist and proud African American R&B Mr. Jennings began singing at an early age in his church choir. He signed with Columbia Records and on August 2004 his first single was “Stick Up Kid”. His second album “the Phoenix” will be released in August 2006.

I also interviewed many celebrities that attended that evening and gave their support but my favorite interview was with stunning actress, Blonde Bombshell, Desperate Housewife Nicolette Sheridan who emphatically stressed to me that she specifically wanted to talk only about VH1 Save the Music Foundation and how important it is that everyone contributes.

Gorgeous socialite philanthropist Jaci Reid has hosted The VH1 Save The Music Foundation Benefit for the past four years at her palatial home in East Hampton.

Mrs. Reid’s work includes fundraising, public relations and hosting various charity events but this particular event she shares much fondness to. Mrs. Reid, the wife of Morris Reid who is on the Board of Directors for VH1, impeccable dressed and styled by Baby Phat Designs expressed how special this Benefit is. VHI Save The Music Foundations is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of education in America’s public schools by restoring music education programs that have been cut due to budget reductions or to save programs at risk of elimination due to lack of instruments. The organization also conducts awareness campaigns on the importance of music participation for America’s youth.

VH1 Save The Music Foundation since its inception in 1997 has donated almost $30 million worth of musical instruments to 1,200 public schools in 80 cities across the United States improving the lives of 700,00 children dedicated to music.
