News: Details On The Alleged Medford Shooter
(Long Island, N.Y.) Since four people were murdered in a robbery/shooting last Father’s Day, many followers of the case have attempted to examine the profile of the alleged shooter. Information was released stating that the suspect was a former military man and had recently lost his job at a supplies company. Long Islanders shaken by the case have since looked into all possible motives for the horrific set of crimes.
Some reports stated that the suspect joined the military seven months before graduating from high school. The suspect, a longtime resident of Long Island, was a diehard Islander fan. He allegedly proposed to his fiancé during an Islander game over the big screen at the Nassau Coliseum, and had been known to post sports-related comments on forums.
The suspected gunman was also an athlete who played goalie on a street hockey team for several years. Some have described him as a generous person, and have claimed that he once purchased hockey gloves for a friend after he lost his pair. He later refused payment from the friend for the gift.
His nickname among teammates was “Goliath” in reference to his name and despite his slight build. Reports stated that he often got knocked around because of his size, but that he could talk relentlessly about hockey and debate the mechanics of the game. Teammates claimed that he would often dwell on missed goals and wouldn’t let the mistakes of the game out of his mind.
They also stated that a drastic change occurred in the suspect after he had stopped playing due to an alleged back condition. Reports stated that he lost touch with teammates and began abusing prescription drugs. One source claimed that, though he had always been straight and sober, he began using Vicodin as a drug of choice and said he wasn’t addicted.
One former friend stated that he discovered ammunition and hand grenades when he visited the suspect’s home last year. Some reports stated that the thirty-three-year-old suspect and his twenty-nine-year-old wife lived with his mother. The couple allegedly dated for four years before marriage and danced to “At Last” by Etta James as their first dance as a married pair.
The family reportedly allowed neighbors to use their backyard for wiffle-ball games and offered them their pool. The couple had an interfaith marriage; the suspect is Jewish and his wife is Christian. Reports stated that they had no health insurance at the time of the incident and that the wife was looking for hospitals to get prescription pain killers in recent weeks.
Prior to his job at a device distributing company, the suspect worked at a company called Wenner Bread Products in Bayport. He allegedly worked at the company between the years of 1998 and 2005 as a foreman in the shipping department. His job at the distributing company involved equipment like optical moisture meters that measure humidity and gas chromatographs.
