News: Husband Charged in Wife’s Slaying
(Long Island, N.Y.) A twenty-seven-year-old man is being charged with his wife’s killing along with a twenty-six-year-old woman from Massachusetts. His wife was shot and killed while walking to the couple’s car after attending a family function in Boonton, New Jersey. He was shot several times and experienced superficial gunshot wounds.
The husband’s initial explanation of the tragedy involved the claim that there were three attackers who pulled the trigger. Police and authorities on the case were alarmed when the husband couldn’t keep his story straight; he first stated that the attackers were white men and later that they were black. He also stated that they chanted “terrorists!” and racial slurs; he and his wife were from Pakistan and had been practicing the holy month of Ramadan.
Reports stated that he eventually admitted his role in the plot to murder his wife and his relations with the twenty-six-year-old out-of-state woman. The pair was charged Friday with the murder. He is currently being held on a million dollars bond and sources claimed that the young woman is in police custody in Framingham on five million dollars bail.
Evidence shows that the murderous pair communicated through text messages as they plotted the murder. The husband instructed the twenty-six-year-old to only shoot and wound him superficially. Some reports stated that the husband wanted revenge for something his wife said about his family.
The deceased’s family claimed that they had pleaded with her to free herself from the abusive relationship and got her away from her husband several times. However, after each incident, she returned to the abusive arms of her husband despite predicting her death and further mistreatment. It was revealed that she had sent a text message to her brother claiming her husband would be behind her death.
Some sources claimed that her husband had locked her in a room for eight hours with a dog after a dispute she had with his mother. Family members and loved ones of the deceased said that she was afraid of dogs and even created a Facebook page to achieve justice for her murder. The Facebook page stated that they were aware of the abuse and just couldn’t convince her to get away.
In the wake of the gruesome crime, both families have been battling for custody of the couple’s young sons. The two-year-old and five-year-old boys have been staying with the husband’s family since the incident. The wife’s family is reportedly grief-stricken and claimed that they haven’t seen the kids since the funeral.
It was also stated that the deceased’s cousins have established a memorial fund for the children in order to provide them with schooling and a chance at normalcy. Sources claimed that the husband’s family had no comment.
