Jones Beach Tower
This Jones Beach State Park landmark is one which has both beauty and utility all rolled into one. The tower was modeled after the St. Mark’s Cathedral in Venice and has an antiquated feel about it. This 200-foot high tower is comprised of brick and stone which gives it more of a rustic look. Not only beautiful in composition, the structure is one which is useful as well. Inside Jones Beach Tower is a 315,000 gallon water tank which stores water from four different wells. This structure is one that has graced Jones Beach for many years and will continue to do so in the future.
Recreation
There are a wide variety of recreational activities to engage in while visiting Jones Beach. For those who love the water, Jones Beach is known for its many water related activities, especially swimming. Whether one wishes to swim in the open waters or take a dip in the wading pools or diving pools, Jones Beach is the place to do so. There is perhaps nothing better than taking a stroll along this 2-mile boardwalk and experiencing the sights and sounds of the beach nearby. The boardwalk is a primary Jones Beach attraction all on its own.
