Mastic Beach is mainly served by the William Floyd School District which has a total of five elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school. The local library is one of the neighborhood’s greatest assets. The Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Library Board of Trustees worked hard to reduce proposed spending, which will lower the tax increase associated with the library’s operation for the year 2008-2009. The William Floyd Estate is a famous attraction in town. There are plenty of exhibits available throughout the house which include historical photographs of the William Floyd Estate and the Floyd family.
